Intelligent Monitoring for High Frequency Electric Spindles

 The Futureswiss Smart Monitor system provides continuous, real-time monitoring of high-frequency electric spindles using data directly from the spindle controller—no external sensors required.

By analyzing spindle load throughout every machining cycle, the system detects tool wear, broken tools, and abnormal cutting conditions before they lead to scrap, downtime, or unexpected production interruptions. Operators receive immediate visual alerts, allowing worn tools to be replaced proactively and broken tools to be identified instantly.

Available with your choice of a rugged 10-inch or 15-inch industrial touchscreen, the Live-Tool Monitor offers a powerful yet intuitive interface for monitoring spindle performance across your entire machine.

 Unlike conventional tool monitoring systems that require external sensors or complex installation, the Futureswiss Live-Tool Monitor communicates directly with supported high-frequency spindle controllers to monitor tool performance.

This provides a clean, reliable installation while preserving the normal operation of the spindle controller.

Built for Multi-Spindle Machines

Monitor up to four independent spindles from a single Live-Tool Monitor System.

Each spindle supports unlimited Smart Cuts, allowing even the most complex machining cycles to be monitored with confidence.

Whether running a single live tool or multiple high-frequency spindles simultaneously, the system provides continuous monitoring across every operation.

SMART CUTS

Every machining cycle is unique.

Smart Cuts independently monitors each cutting operation performed by a spindle instead of treating the entire machining cycle as a single event. Whether a spindle performs roughing, finishing, drilling, chamfering, or multiple operations within the same program, each cut is learned and evaluated independently.

By analyzing every cut separately, the system delivers greater monitoring accuracy, minimizes false alarms, and detects worn or broken tools sooner—giving operators confidence that every machining operation is performing as expected.

Instant Visual Status

A rugged industrial tower light provides immediate machine status that can be seen from across the shop floor.

Green – Tool operating normally

Yellow – Tool wear has reached the user-defined warning threshold and should be scheduled for replacement.

Red – A broken tool or critical cutting fault has been detected. An output signal can be sent to the CNC machine to stop the machining cycle before additional parts are damaged.

Immediate visual feedback helps minimize downtime, reduce scrap, and eliminate unnecessary troubleshooting.

AUTOMATIC LEARNING

The Live-Tool Monitor automatically learns the normal cutting characteristics of each machining cycle during an initial Learn sequence. Once complete, it continuously compares every machining cycle against the learned profile to detect changes caused by tool wear, breakage, or abnormal cutting conditions.

When a new tool is installed, operators can quickly initiate a new Learn cycle and adjust warning thresholds to match tooling requirements, materials, or production tolerances.

Tool History & Production Data

Track tooling performance over time with built-in data logging.

Export tool history as standard CSV files to review cutting performance, analyze wear trends, and support preventative maintenance planning. Historical data provides valuable insight into tooling life, helping optimize replacement schedules and improve manufacturing consistency.

Precision Monitoring

Engineered for today's high-speed machining applications, the Futureswiss Live-Tool Monitor can monitor cutting tools as small as 0.006 inch (0.15 mm).
